"Sailfish OS could not be updated" lead to black screen

I can't use my phone any more!

I installed the OS update that was released Wednesday, and after the update was almost finished it wrote "Sailfish OS could not be updated" and then it seemed like it tried to roll back the upgrade. After some time it rebooted and now the phone just boots to a black screen after the jolla logo.

The phone still connects to the net after boot and I can ssh to it. What can I try to do to rescue my phone and all the configuration it has? I would like to avoid a factory reset.

Any help will be appreciated, Kim

@pawel That just leads me to the recovery mode where I can do a factory reset. I would like to avoid loosing all my setup of the phone. I have a recent backup but that covers about 1% of what I use the phone for.

try to copy /home/nemo if you can, then you will be able to retrieve most of your data

@pmelas I will try to copy my $HOME and see what that gives me.

I expect that all applications need to be reinstalled but that is not so bad for the Jolle applications. The Android applications might be more complex to install as I don't remember how I got Play installed.

Is it possible to copy the full Android installation from the old phone?
