Can't access recovery mode after failed update to 2.1.1.23 [answered]
Like some other users I also experienced problems with the 2.1.1.23 update. After clicking install I got a message like "Can't install update" and my Jolla C is stuck in the bootscreen since then only displaying the Jolla logo.
Now I tried to access it via telnet in recovery mode following this manual https://jolla.zendesk.com/hc/en-us/articles/204709607-Jolla-Phone-How-to-use-Recovery-Mode
But even though I tried multiple times I doesn't work. There is no LED turning on and when I connect it to my computer with Fedora running on it I can't access it.
telnet 10.42.66.66 just says "no route to host". When I look for connected devices with ifconfig nothing shoes up. The only way I can see that the Jolla C is connected it via lsusb which results in "Bus 001 Device 013: ID 18d1:d00d Google Inc."
Is there any other way on how to access recovery mode or at least somehow gain access to the system again?
I had to do it to an Aqua Fish yesterday, and the led didn't lit up for me either, but I could get the telnet connection up successfully nevertheless. Not on the first try and the first USB port I tried, though (on a Compaq laptop running Linux Mint 17.3). The computer gave me a notion of "ethernet being connected" or something to that tune upon connecting the USB, after which the telnet connection succeeded.
I had different set of instructions to get AF to the recovery mode, but also I did try the actual recovery with the Jolla 1 instructions first, which are trickier that those of Jolla C and the terminal command lines seem to be needless and possibly harmful. Zendesk really should update the instructions to explicitly state that it's Jolla 1 device specific and link the Jolla C ones to the article.
