HI there,

I am currenty very unsatisfied. Jolla should no longer keep this 2.1.1.24 update online, since my Jolla is now bricked. I tried to update yesterday and as far as I can see the update is already available for a few days and other people ran into this issue as well.

I want to rescue what's on the device, also SMS messages etc.

But in the process, I am getting this error:

mount /dev/mmcblk1p1 /mysd mount: mounting /dev/mmcblk1p1 on /mysd failed: Device or resource busy

Any help? Thank you!

This update is really bad work, @Jolla! Stop offering this update until you fixed this issue.

@Anna this is Early Access update so some things are no completed. If you want stable updates use only official updates.

Sorry your phone is sad @Anna! As stated above this is early release access which I like to think of as beta and/or release candidates. But that shouldn't generally mean bricking of devices! I've updated two devices successfully so it's at least not 100% failure rate.

Is this a Jolla 1? If so: I think this might be a btrfs issue from the error you included. My Jolla 1 is unfortunately down for the count so I can't test anything from here. I hope someone with the same device can help you out of your unbootable state. Should be solvable!

Your post contains null actual information: About what and how it was bricked, neither about your recovery steps just a half line with typos. In other words, your rage-out isnt' helping. If one customer complains in that way you can't help and nobody will stop an update on that information base. And I fully understand your rage, but this won't help.

Against all others, I think also an EA update should not brick a device! Of course there can be some smaller issues, which are undetected during development, and should than be fixed on demannd from Together.
