When creating an email one can choose between existing account's main email addresses to select for "From". But it is not possible to configure at E-Mail-Account's server-configuration a second identity/alias, of a same account. It would be great to have the opportunity to configure such an e-mail alias in addition to an account's main email address, to be used as additional email identity/alias. With then possible choice to select between main __or__ alias as sender within same account, (which is otherwise kept untouched).

It would also be nice to have some intelligent identity choosing for replying emails (like default, recipient of the mail and free choosing).

My ugly workaround: I have 6 addresses on the same account, so I set up in my Jolla 6 Accounts with the same server settings, but do only sync one automatically, the other 5 are on manual sync and just called identify, so I can see in which are my mails stored. On sending mail I need to remember to choose the correct account bevore sending.

Ugly, but a workaround...

;-) using this 'ugly' workaround too, then only -update- the 'main-account'.but it would be so smart to have it as intended by the question.

just noticed that my answer below would have better matched as a comment here, as it is the same workaround but without the ugly space/time consuming synching of inbox...

Not really a solution. But at least a work around (for not having the inbox double/triple/... times) https://together.jolla.com/question/201359/email-app-how-to-sendreceive-emails-with-alias-address/?answer=201571#post-id-201571

sorry @peterleinchen the link that you give is not explicitly the original of duplicate.
This one above that you closed is with no doubt a request with clear description.
With this we may use it clearly as reference for requirement.
