It could be a chance for Sailfish to have a big ally in Linux world (especially that Sailfish is somehow debian based...)

Well Yes and No since getting Debian everywhere is nice, but as you should know SFOS is RPM-based and not DEB-based... :)

SFOS is Suse based. Maemo was Debian.

Of course you are both right. I do not like debian-like distros (SUSE is my distro of choice). No idea, why I came up with sth like this? ;) Anyway, it is always a chance that some Debian fans will notice SFOS that way...

Mer and SUSE both might well use RPM but as well you could say that SUSE is Mer-based! :)

well zypper and OBS are both suse developed things, but i agree the classification isn't really that meaningful beyond package management.
