On my JollaC I think right from when I got it there are bright vertical stripes when the screen is mainly black, e.g. on the boot screen or on the app menu. Is there a way to debug this? How can I judge whether it is a hardware or a software problem. If I use a screenshot tool on the phone and transfer the captured to a different device there are no stripes. Here is a photo

Same with a screenshot tool image description

How about a screenshot @harry so we can all see what you see. Are the stripes horizontal or vertical?

the stripes are vertical and are getting brighter over time. I'll add images later today because I need a second device to take them

If it is a HW problem it won't show up on a screenshot.

If you can see it in picture taken from outside, but screenshot is OK this is a sure indicator it is a HW problem, no extra debugging needed.

Could be broken HW on chip level but that is rare, I'd rather believe the display connector or cable is damaged or display/digitizer module itself is broken.

Just send it for repair or replacement.
