While i am not going to purchase an xperia X (too big of a phone) and sfos at the moment i have some issues with the pricing model. It includes things that many may or not want. Ie i have no use for exchange and i don't want android but i want access to the store, support and predictive text (which i would also like to be available in more languages) and updates for more than a year.

So is it possible some of those services to be broken out of the package and have the user pay for what he wants/uses. I believe it wouldn't be that difficult to have exchange and android as payed apps in the store.

That is a god idea in my opinion.

And for myself, I'd be willing to pay more for a device without Alien Dalvik, say for example 75 euros.

All of the features that need a license should be optional, i.e. exFat, exchange, android ... , but this will be messy. I mean "I" would like to have android support, but don't need Exchange or exfat. Every user have different opinions. Or maybe the Licenses are together ~2€, and this is not the part to worry about.

This is software. Pricing model you suggest can't be real because everyone will pay less and hack for full features. Believe me.

Store access is already available on ported devices, right? However you can't download Alien Dalvik. Still, I see posts around of people hacking Alien Dalvik on their ported devices. Whether that's legal or not. the hacking already takes place. Paying less might be better than not paying at all.

Given that there will be community ports of 64bit HW noone can stop someone installing sfos on an X unofficially and sideload/hack all the features he needs. Its inevitable. Hence my request. For people that are willing to pay for features they care about.

If you start with this logic, why buy Sailfish X at all when you will for sure find it on the Pirate bay?

it wouldnt be that messy with a proper in app purchase system. Practically i mean. license wise itd be a mess.

the price is for supporting jolla, price is not for unlocking features.
