Hello pals,

I was updating some apps through warehouse (i think meerun was going through when this happened), when it unfortunately crashed mid-progress.

Afterwards, my gallery app stopped working - it would show me the list of photos with thumbnails, but if you tried to click one open, the app would simply hang completely.

The camera app would also exit upon launch, not even displaying its UI.

I tried installing/reinstalling some gstreamer package on warehouse, but all that ended up doing was removing the camera app completely from my system.

So, my question would be how to go about to restore the camera/gallery functionality without doing an OS reset? As these are "system" apps, they are unfortunately not available through the Harbour UI interface. Is there some command line magick I could do to fix this all up?

TY, that did the trick for getting them installed! Unfortunately the origonal problem still presists =( Gallery hangs when trying to open a pic, and then the yellow task killer pops up =/

perhaps to actually remove gallery completely and reinstall it.

pkcon remove jolla-gallery

So, I did that, and refreshed the media database. Unfortunately, problem presists - still can't actually open the pics, still can't use camera app. FWIW, camera/pic browsing in Android Whatsapp is not effected.

Running out of ideas here, anything else one could do, besides a full reset? =/

Edit: Tried Rebooting phone, and now it's all jammed up - powers on, but just shows the BG, not loading the UI or even the pin screen.

Can still access the phone over SSH & USB. Going to back up stuff now, but if anyone has ideas on how to proceed, it'd be cool to hear.

Edit 2: Tried to run version --dup from the SSH command line, but it keeps giving errors because it can't access the web - which makes sense, as you can't input a pin code into the phone ATM and WLAN was disabled at the moment of rebooting :(

Edit 3: Found the command line command to turn WiFi on, now running version --dup to see if it helps.

Edit4: That did the trick - Phone is now working again! Though now I have to reconfigure all this SFOS 2.0 UIness away, but at least I didn't need a full factory reset!~
