Unable to play mpeg-4 files when ending in .mov (unsupported file type)

I have received an mpeg-4 file ending in .mov from an apple device, but my Jolla gives me "unsupported file type" when I try to play it. xdg-mime query returns "video/quicktime" and if I change the ending to .mp4 it plays fine. Seems there's a file type entry missing for .mov.

If you install LLs Video Player from openepos it registers itself as also being able to play mov files.

Tried it and it is a good workaround. Works for the movie I received as a mail attachment. But unfortunately it doesn't work for MMS. Still a workaround, and it would be nice if it was supported naively.

True. It is just a workaround. Jolla needs to fix their mimetype for the video player to include quicktime mov files. Though I am not sure as it is a container that all the typical codecs are supported. Anyhow adding it to the mimetypes supported by the default player makes sense. Even if it has an obscure codec that the player cannot play back it can always show an error message.
