In the call history with contacts who have several numbers it would be very nice to:

a) See with a symbol which number called from the contact (office, home, mobile1, mobile2 etc.)

b) Be able to choose in the call history with swiping or longpressing between the different number of the contact to call back at a specific number

Original:

Whenever a contact who has several numbers in my contact card called me and I want to call this person back I don't know from which number this person called me (office, home, mobile etc.). To be able to call this person back on a specific number I have to open the contact card and choose the number.

It would be very nice to be able to see and choose the number for calling back directly in the call history. For example I can imagine doing this by swiping on the contact to the left or right to switch numbers. Or by pressing long on the call and the be able to choose it. It would be nice if a symbol would appear on the right of the contact name in the contact history to be able to tell from which number the contact has called.

Thank you for your effort and feedback in advance!

@Derriell

"I don't know from which number this person called me" - yes we do, long press on that name in the call list, a menu opens with options and data - the data is the number and the time when that caller called.

Concerning that problem: there is also a patch that enables the display of the callers number in call log. When clicking the the contact (and fast dial not enabled via settings), the contact opens and the number the caller used for calling is preselected. You can choose any number of that contact and call him. But that's of course one step more than your idea with long clicking which I find appealing in combination with showing the number directly in call list as the patch does.

@Edz, yes you are right, we can see the number, my bad about that. But if our contact has a business mobile and a private mobile with the same provider unless we know the numbers by heart we can not tell the difference. There for I believe the point is still valid, showing under what type of number we saved it in the call history. @naytsyrhc Thank you for the information. I did not know about the fast dial. I like it deactivated.

If you disable "Quick call" you will open the contact card, with the number the person used to call you or the last number you used to call that person highlighted, when tapping a call in the call list. Go to Settings->Apps->Phone and make sure "Quick call" is inactive.
