Subfolders in cloud albums

I use SFOS with my OneDrive account, which mostly works fine. I can upload my photos, I can see my images from the cloud in Gallery app, but...
I have multiple directories in my root folder that hold only pictures (some in psd format). Some of these folders have more subfolders inside it, for organizing.
What appears in Gallery app is essentially just 3 folders:
- /edge
- /Pictures (9 subfolders, only one is visible)
- /Pictures/Camera Roll (3 subfolders, none of these are visible)
How are these directories chosen (in code)?
(plz, if you really want to leave your "omg just waste your entire day setting up onecloud because everyone is spying on you, cloud is evil!11 install gentoo" comment/answer, just don't, I couldn't care less)
