Tried to install Sailfish on my Xperia X. Followed all the instructions 1.2.4., but the Emma software informs "Locked phone detected" and that's it. Quintuple checked that the build version is the latest and required. Also checked that the phone is indeed NOT locked ("Rooting status: Bootloader unlock allowed: Yes"). So what now?

You have to enable developer mode and then to enable the unlocking feature.

The mobile phone is still locked, you have only prepared your mobile phone to unlock it.
This is the right page from Sony to unlock the mobile:

But the instructions on that page are wrong. you cannot download the SDK manager tehy tell you to as it is no longer listed in their files (at the bottom of hte page).

William ( 2017-10-12 00:23:31 +0300 )editI fought through all the instructions to get to the end where you enter the command to unlock the bootloader, and it just does not work. Booting back into Android the connection works ok, the drivers have installed properly.. just nothing. Don't know what to do now..

At first I wasn't asked to install the correct USB driver (android_winusb. inf) to my computer. After I unplugged the USB cable from the computer and reconnected by pressing 'volume up', I was able to install the USB driver correctly in the windows device manager and could continue. Maybe you have the same problem.

Yep, I got the same. It seems the EMMA tool is total crap. It seems to do nothing for us, by the time we muck about unlocking the boot loader we are 95% of the way finished anyway.
