I can't believe the SD Card in this new release is still just a storage place for additional junk, while the system keeps all at the internal space... I won't hack the system files to have better sd card usage. Android is blind for any sd cards. Sorry, this is a NO GO.

Citing the release notes for 3.3.0:
Many Android apps can access the SD card, now. For instance, OsmAnd and HERE WeGo map apps can save the offline map tiles to the card. Likewise, Spotify can save the music to the card. Apps like WhatsApp can attach pictures from the SD card to messages now. The card name must not contain spaces.
Thank you for that great hint "card name must not contain spaces"!!! My card name was "Sailfish OS". System backup was possible, but in OsmAnd there was no sd card. After I renamed the card everything is perfect!! Thanks!! Now it's mounted to /media/sdcard/[card name]. And I directly find it in the sailfish file browser.

Have you tried something like in this howto? (The ext4-version, of course.) In my Jolla 1 I have 128 GB, I wonder how big a µSD for Xperia could be....
