Judging from the backup UI and the contents of .vault, the calendar is not currently backed up. Is there or should there be a tool similar to vcardconverter that can export all events to an .ics file?

edit: to vote here for including the calendar in Jolla backup.

I've created a small command-line tool icalconverter that can export all events from the local calendar to an .ics file.

Hi, I've tested the above, but only got an empty ics file (release 1.0.7.16) Could you have a look and fix it? That would be great!

EDIT Hmm, if I run it as root it "works" -> empty file, but root does not have events, so... running as nemo does not work as this user has no access to the db file (this might have changed in one of the later updates...)

I would rephrase that as "Please include calendar in the Backup app". Is it ok if I do that? Or are you in fact asking for a separate tool for this task?

Refering to @bennypr0fane: I would like to have an calendar option in the Backup app, too.

Let's say, you play around with your jolla phone, break something and have to do a factory reset. In this case, I would like to have an easy way to restore all my calendar events.

(Of course, tools to export information in common file formats is nice, too. ;)

Yes, calendar definitely should be backed up! And it should be included on Jollas Backup, not some app.
