I am looking to buy a cheap "smartwatch" fitness/sleep tracker, those that can be bought for less than 20€ from China. Is there any success in getting them working with either Jolla 1 or Sailfish X? Seems Fitbit atleast will not install on Jolla 1. I have not tried Bluetooth on the Xperia as I have no BT devices, any chance it will connect?

Try MeeRun in openrepos.net, been inactive for a while but works. I don't use watches though but other people do and you can read comments there. Manual install and terminal required. Not for the impatient.
I don't think MeeRun is "officially" abandoned, but I'll try this other one, thanks! Nevertheless, MeeRun still works, abandoned or otherwise. I'm not sure BLE will make a massive difference since GPS tracking drains the battery regardless. Also, I think BLE Is implemented in some device/sfos combination.

basically no as you need ble which sailfish does not support. at least for j1. one of rhe reasons i still have an android... for some years now... another problem would be that.most wearables would have no sailfish app.
so listen up jolla. you are in finland. so is nokia who bought withings. so is suunto. so is polar. do some networking.
