Hi there,

I have a Jolla device, it is about 1.5 years old. Since the previous update I have discovered several reboot. Sometimes it seems, if the battery was broken ( after restart, it has critically low power ). Is there any way to check my device? Now I'm using Kiiminkijoki 2.1.2.3 The issue is still present. I found battery ( 3rd party sadly ) for the device in eBay, but I don't want to buy until I'm not 100% percent sure, if it will fix my issue.

Unless you enjoy the challenge of hunting a myriad of potential problems, I would be inclined to back up all your wanted data, reset completely and upgrade to latest os version available to you. Also, if your battery is 1.5 years old and sees regular use, what harm is there in having another battery?, as for batteries not being original Jolla, don;t worry, i use 3 different types across 3 Jolla 1's - none of them are a problem, at least for me. £10 to my door from Germany - what's £10 these days?

It seems, the new battery has solved the problem. Since last wednesday, the device is working properly. Thanks again your suggestions.

Thanks for your answers guys. As all of you suggested a new battery, I'll soon order one, and hope, my issues will be fixed with it. However I don't think if it is some kind of rocket science in the 21rd century a battery that lasts more than two or three years.

It may or may not eliminate your problem, but it removes the doubt for the sake of a few euros/pounds, if it doesn't fix it, totally reset your device and start fresh with a fresh battery - good luck either way.

before doing a reset i would better test some core functions with csd to check if some functions are broken and maybe simple to resolve.
With the reset solution, there a big part for backup and restore, and we don't learn what goes wrong, with the probability that it comes again...
Reset is for me the last resort...
