Hi All,

I have bean trying to update my phone for over a week now at no luck.

I get a update notification as normal. I can download and backup as always. When I start the update The phone will start the updating process. Thats where the issue starts.

When the progress bar start moving the screen changes telling me it can't install the update and I have to reboot. Doing this will remove the update and reboot the phone. I have to re download and retry.

I have tried a lot. from normal use of the phone to just having the settings-app open. I don't have openrepo installed. I have 9.3gb of free space on device and 25.1gb on the memory card.

Can anyone help?

same here on a Jolla 1. Same thing happened with the previous update but after ignoring the update for two months it suddenly worked. Is there a logfile containing a more descriptive error message ?

You didn't change any system files, install any packages from third parties, etc? That would mean the problem with updates not working goes further than just people having played around. It would definitely be a good idea for the 'update failed' message to at least show which part of the process went wrong.

Either way, you can always install the update by opening the Terminal, and entering the following commands:

devel-su
ssu re 2.1.2.3
version --dup

Once the last one has finished, you need to reboot your device.

Thanks, this was the solution. Seen it before for other update problems. Was a bit scared this will fix you version to this update.

worked here as well, but for future updates it would still be interesting to know how to debug the update process ...
