Google Play Services No Longer Working On Intex Aqua Fish

asked 2017-10-26 07:04:26 +0300

I'm using Intex Aqua Fish for about a year. At first, Google Play Services were working perfectly fine. Somehow I was able to install and use Google Play Store also. I also used Yalp Store. Everything was working fine.

Then a small bulb lighted in my mind one day. I asked myself, if YALP Store is working fine, why the heck I am keeping Play Store for? So I deleted that from the phone. Also, in the process, I deleted Google Play Services also. Now many applications, which are dependent on Play Services, are not working. I'm unable to install the proper Play Services. From Aptoide store, I was able to install Play Services successfully, but whenever I launch any app, it says "Unfortunately, Google Play sevices has stopped". And the app does not work.

Please advise how to solve this issue. I'm on Sailfish OS version 2.1.0.11

I'm not an expert but based on my quick testing it would seem that simply copying Phonesky.apk to /opt/alien/system/priv-app would allow me to use apps that require Google Play services just fine. Though I had installed the full package previously and logged in so I'm not sure if you need be logged in before you can leave only the Phonesky.apk to the directory.
