Hi!

I have notice different behavior of whatsapp notifications sound/tone on my Xperia X (with SFOX) versus my Jolla 1. As I came directly from a Jolla 1, I can't tell if it is related to the different Android version between J1 and Xperia or if it is related to the latest SFOS version (available only on Xperia).

1) Whatsapp notifications tone is a tone frome Whatsapp and not the Jolla IM tone anymore? Why ? Is there any easy workaround to set it back to Jolla IM tone ?

2) While the Jolla Call and SMS tones are very (very!) loud, even at 80%, the Whatsapp sound notification is always low. I hardly hear it while I'm talking... Any idea why? Any idea of how I can set it a litlle bit louder?

Raymaen seems to have a problem to with Android sound, maybe this is related : here

Regards

EDIT: Just found out that the Whatsapp tone sound can be changed with the "volume" parameter (like in Media app) but not the "ringtone volume" parameter. So, to me, this is a bug.

yes, it's a known bug and already described with a workaround HERE. For the second problem I use the "extended volume control" patch from coderus. so you get two volume bars, one for the ringtone and another for media files (and android)

For 1) (Yeah, loved my old IM-tone too):

The Android-sounds reside in

/opt/alien/system/media/audio/*

for example the notifications in

/opt/alien/system/media/audio/notifications/

You can copy or link any *.ogg to this locations. The source (where to copy from, as I found) is

/opt/alien/usr/share/sounds/jolla-ringtones/

If you are not familiar with the terminal, you might use "Cargo Dock" and the patch "Start As Root For Cargo Dock" from Warehouse. You can copy or link from one panel to the other. You need to restart android after that to see the new files in WhatsApp's selection menu.

(I have had some problems with Schturman's great "Start As Root" - extension recently. Sometimes Cargo Dock won't start with root access - not red then. After some attempts it was working then. Be careful to not overwrite important system files.)

No warranties...
