Hiya!

As long as ProtonMail doens't support IMAP, and no native app for it exists, people have to use the Android application.

I sent a bunch of email back and forth after copying the K-9 settings, so /usr/share/lipstick/androidnotificationpriorities has

Protonmail;email,email_exists
package:ch.protonmail.android;email,email_exists

I also tried adding chat,chat_exists out of desperation.

Does anyone know what's missing and/or if a working configuration could be included in a future update?

Thanks!

If you submit the app to: https://openrepos.net/content/schturman/android-apps-notifications Others will benefit also. The author will respond fast I guess.

protonmail supports for imap on linux thunderbird is on its way! When out, it should be trivial to add native support for sos (sailfish os).

cheers.

@carepack I couldn't get it to work so my submission is useless. I don't know if/when I'll get it to work because I have no ideas, so that's why I'm asking publicly if this is something Jolla would be intersted in or if it's something someone else knows how to fix real quick.

IMO apps like that android-apps-notifications and the search engines by coderus should be easily included by Jolla into the phone; it's awkward that users of useful features are dependent on third-party apps!

@eatdirt I emailed ProtonMail about the IMAP bridge for Linux, so I can read the email natively on my phone, and they replied with a very vague reply about not supporting the bridge on phones or whatever, maybe they misunderstood me.

But until I can run some bridge on a VPS somewhere or whatever it takes to use a native app, or someone codes up a native app using the same APIs as the Android app, I would just like to get a notification when the Android app notices new mail...

Cheers!

when you added this parameters, did you restart lipstick before tests?

According tot this link https://protonmail.com/support/knowledge-base/imap-smtp-and-pop3-setup/ they are supporting IMAP.

So is this question still valid?
