What happened to scrolling backround images? [answered]

Just a quick question. I've been away for a while, since my Jolla 1 failed, and now coming back to Sailfish X i notice that a number of things have changed, but most noticably the backround image no longer moves with the screens. So when I scroll down to the apps it just goes black, and when i scroll left or right it just stays static.

Why did they change this? In my opinion very few of the changes to the UI have been for the better. Some undoubtedly have, but no one can claim that this makes for a better looking experience?

Well, I'm not about to read up on two years of blogposts :) , but Sthocs and pawel's comment clears things up nicely. I had forgotten about the patches. I never used them back on the Jolla 1 but it seems Ill have to give them a closer look. Hopefully I can manage to get Sailfish X looking as good and being as responsive as Sailfish 1 on the jolla. :)
