Blue led when screen is about to power off

I liked the led going blue when the screen was about to power off, so you could prevent the screen from powering off.

https://together.jolla.com/question/47107/1071618-blue-pearl-white-led-notification-appeared-before-screen-auto-turns-off/

But some time ago that feature (the led lighting up blue) seems have disappeared.

I now find that when I tap the screen when it dims, sometimes it didn't dim because it was about to turn of, but to compensate for ambient light levels at which time clicking the screen has undesired effects.

Could we get the blue led feature back?

And while on the subject. I know that after you've tapped the dimmed screen, it takes longer before it dims again. Which is nice. But there are moments when I want to keep the screen on. It would be really nice if there was a way to directly disable the screen from dimming. Maybe by double tapping or a drag down menu when the screen dims? Or maybe by double-pressing the power button, or an "don't lock" option in the drag down menu of the main screen (where you can currntly select lock and change ambiances) so I wouldn't even have to wait for the first time the screen dims.

Note that it is not exactly "display is about to go off" led. More like "display is logically dimmed, but can't use display brightness to make it look different from display is on state" - which basically does not happen anymore as nowadays in these situations where backlight can't be used to make display dimmer, compositor blends the ui towards black so that there is always a difference visible to user.

Anyway, to get the led functioning as it used to do you can execute from shell:

mcetool --enable-led-pattern=PatternDisplayDimmed

@spiiroin - I've just tried this on my Jolla1, but no colour is emitted from the LED, the display dims and goes off. I reset mcetool to defaults, applied your code again, but still I see no colour emitted as you suggest.

"Display dims and goes off" is what we want users to see. The led is/was triggered only in situations where that was unlikely (the brightness difference between "on" and "dimmed" states is too small) e.g. in situations like "display brightness set to minimum, auto brightness enabled, device in dimly light room" -> the display is so dark in normal use that there is no brightness steps to utilize for dimming anymore.
