I just received my Xperia X and would otherwise be ready to start unlocking and flashing, but as version 2.1.3.7 have been released för early access and is about to be available officially, I'm wondering if it's beneficial to wait until I can flash directly with 2.1.3.7? Or do I just as well flash now with 2.1.3.5 and update when 2.1.3.7 is available?

If there are reasons to wait, I assume the benefits are quite small, but do any specific reasons come to mind?

I decided not to wait for possible benefits. At the moment, I have had an Android phone for exactly 1 day. Now my Xperia runs Sailfish.

Hi.

In my humble opinion waiting doesn't make any sense.

To my understanding, you will need to flash 2.1.3.5 (which is not available as an OTA update) and later update via OTA to 2.1.3.7. OTA updates usually add/remove/modifiy packages, but these packages must be in place beforehand.

In other words: "2.1.3.7" = "Flashing 2.1.3.5" + "upgrade to 2.1.3.7" :-)

Best regards.

You can get 2.1.3.7 over the air already now, but you need to have "early access" enabled in Jolla account. This is via Jolla account http://account.jolla.com

In my experiences there are not ground shaking things to wait from version 2.1.3.5 to 2.1.3.7.

Maybe you mean the final release anyway when you don't need to have early access enabled?

I know that, but it would still be an update. I'm wondering if it would be better to flash my Xperia with 2.1.3.7 instead of flashing with 2.1.3.5 and then update to 2.1.3.7?

.5 -> .7 is rather small (technically). I have flashed + updated my Xperia few days ago. I'd say it is worth upgrading immediately.
