Setting up an OpenVPN connection, loading .ovpn file, works for me. If I want to add another connection by loading a second file, the first entry in list is replaced by the new one. So I need to go through setup every time the other connection is needed.
Is there maybe a false positive for a doublet check?

For every new VPN connection, add, connect, then restart phone and connect to VPN, new added connection, again. This will work, known bug.

I made the exprience, that you should use the settings for TCP instead for UDP. I'm not sure, whether this is an issue of your network operator or the device.
Sometimes it helps to edit your vpn settings and reauthenticate to the network. the last option is to restart your phone.
By the way. The network access is anyway a bit unstable on my Intex Aqua Fish if you change the network form WLAN to 3G/4G or between different cells. For this situations I use Sailfish Utilities. With this tool you can reset the network easily.
