Hey, let's all help Jolla by agreeing to donate $20 towards their costs! If all 10,000 members did this, then $200,000 might be really helpful to keep Jolla alive. Perhaps Jolla could just give us a PayPal link.

Jolla could to various activities to get some money from the community like selling mechanise in their shop if they wanted to.

It doesn't seems like they're interested in that at this point.

Management cost might be a factor as they might like to focus on improving SailfishOS, getting new partner ships and making new device integrations.

I also live in Australia and am trying to buy Sailfish X without success. Why is it so hard to give Jolla money?

I think Jolla is on the right track with the sale of Sailfish X at a price of 50 euros. Operating systems must cost money so that it can be credibly assured that users' privacy is not compromised. If Jolla asks for a new 50 Euro every year, that's fine. The company has a good product, they don't need donations.

IIRC, they actually can't accept donations even if they wanted due to some peculiarities of Finnish law.

+1, I remember the bad example of Mac OS X, which IMO started to go bad as soon as Apple decided to give it away "for free". I will gladly pay for a good product, including "extended support" on Sailfish X next year!

So good it is not, but for 50,- kind of fun to play with. It is still miles behind Nokia N9 in terms of features and reliability. Anyway indeed it is nice product and I highly appreciate what Jolla is doing. I just hope they will deliver the few core features I miss most.

By the way, does anyone have any idea how many Sailfish X licenses have been sold in the last few weeks?
