hello world,

I am currently an Android user and have a handful of critical important apps that I have paid in the app store. In case I migrate to Sailfish X, can I use these Paid apps via Yalp with my usual credentials? I don't want to loose them in the process of migrating to Sailfish X

many thanks and best wishes

Woerml

I advise you to check apps required android version to make sure you can run them in SFOSX.

Hi, and welcome to TJC :) Yes it is possible to download paid apps using Yalp when you enter your own Google credentials - this worked well for me, but I only needed 1 app. Be aware that Yalp warns from using it (https://github.com/yeriomin/YalpStore):

Q: Is it legal to use Yalp Store with my own Google account? A: No. Yalp Store violates §3.3 of Google Play Terms of Service. Your account might be disabled, robbing you of any apps you have purchased.

Alternatively you could install Google Play Store (and all the stuff that comes with it) on your phone, see https://together.jolla.com/question/114608/howto-install-gapps-gplay-google-play-kk-on-tablet-or-c/

Or download your purchased apps to a Google Play connected device and extract the apk.

Amendment to Alains answer: The 'Yalp' way worked for me only in case of some payed apps. (e.g. Osmand and Blitzer.de, a german traffic-control / Speeding camera warning app).

For the games which i bought, at least the google services are mandatory.

Thank you very much for clarification. It helps very much to know that it in principle works, although not allowed/legal. For complex apps gapps might be required. Sine I mainly need weather and rain forecast (Regenradar) in commercial-free form, and threema messanger

@BlaeX: thanks - good to know. @Linux-Woermel: I actually have two paid apps - one of them is WeatherPro which works perfectly. Threema should work also well, since a couple Sfos users are using it. There's even a possibility to buy Threema without Google Play Store: https://shop.threema.ch/
