Every time I update SailfishOS, all the default ambiences revert to their factory state, deleting any customizations I have made to them (changing ringtone, for instance, or even name changes). This is inconvenient.

this has been answered on some other thread alreary. iirc it is suggested to create new ambience of your own and those should keep their settings. perhaps the default ambiences dhould not be customizable. sent from my sailfishx.

No, it's not a duplicate. The question you linked is not about Sailfish OS updates; it's about activating a different ambience. Please un-accept this answer.
