Possibility to add contact avatar vanished?

While playing around with the Xperia X, I realize that there's no way anymore to assign an image to a contact.

If I don't err, the contact page had a square field to select an image file when in edit mode (on the old Jolla, which I gave away).

Has this been ditched intentionally or is it a bug?

For me it works. I can add avatar images to contacts. Did you perhaps get the contact by synchronizing with some online account? I found, that I only can add images to contacts i created locally.

The avatar can be changed by touching the current image while NOT in edit mode.

Tried several ways but cannot add an avatar to s contact with Salfish X. The contact was created locally.
