From what I've understood the thing was almost ready to market so switching to SailfishOS would have been a pretty big effort. However the bigger issue is that the market for smartwatches didn't turn out to be anything like what the companies who made them hoped they would be. Pebble, who could be considered the vanguard of the industry, had to lay off something like 25% of their staff last year.

The smartwatch market is actually performing pretty well It showed over 60 percent year over year growth during this year’s second quarter.

@N9Sailfish thats the thing with percentages, its can be intentionally confusing. 60% growth on a barely existing market ist still a barely existing market.

seeing the jolla/lg smartwatch last year made me really want it even though i dont need it at all, but yeah... not gonna happen :)

i dont know how it did affect- but pebble was bought by fitbot ( if i remember right) - so i dont think this might be the benchmark to look at.

Our only chance might be chinese consortium. Let's put our fingers crossed or equivalent. :) :) The truth is that SFOS is going to fly or get wind under it's run just after the number of the applications and of users are increasing.
