It's been a long time since I've had to post here... I recently had to reset my device. I went through some updates and on the 3rd (I think?) the screen stopped showing the Sailfish update progress bar. Usually it reboots after it is done updating but this time it didn't. I assumed something went wrong and rebooted the device. I'm assuming it was still updating and I screwed that up because on that reboot I got stuck in a bootloop (is it a bootloop when it doesn't loop by itself?). I couldn't get past the Jolla logo. So after screwing around with some drivers and telnet (I failed), suddenly the device started working again this morning.

However, the camera app and other apps related to the camera such as flashlight no longer work. Camera app doesn't even open and the flashlight app doesn't do a thing when I turn on the light. I figured the device didn't properly update after all and decided to give it a proper reset and not touch anything during updates. But now it seems like the device refuses to actually do a factory reset. Everytime I use it, the device just shuts down, when I reboot the device it does show me the tutorial but my apps are still there and it is still on the same version of SFOS.

I'm not very good with all the technical mumbo jumbo so I hope you guys will be able to help me. Also, my excuses in case this is a duplicate thread. I tried looking for a bit but couldn't find anything of a similar nature. edit: I should probably mention that I'm using the original Jolla phone/Jolla1.

Are you now trying to reset device via Jolla UI or Option 1 via Telnet? link text

Jolla UI. I couldn't get the telnet option to work because of a combination of missing drivers and multiple computers not recognising the device at all.

Could only suggest that stand best chance using Linux distribution even if run as Live from USB.
