Installing Firefox and using it is not problematic at all. However, the "Sync" function is not supported currently. Though pairing the device and syncing seems to start... after a while the process crashes. Any further attempt to Sync is rejected as "not supported" or similar. Nevertheless, some bookmarks from the main computer appear in Jolla's FFX installation as well. This means that syncing kinda works but is broken, for whatever reason, mid-ways.

Why is (the Android) Firefox' Sync-ing capability not supported (currently)? Any plans for near-future support?

Update: I did not know of any plans to support syncing FFX store(d) data to Sailfish' own browser, which is a brilliant idea.

Firefox Sailfish native apps not exist for now .. you talk about Android app. This is Dalvik related ..

If you are talking about the Anrdoid app, mine works perfectly with the sync..

@jaine Did you install FFX via Yandex? Which version? I have version 26.0 and it fails to sync: "Unsupported action". Could it be related to my local (desktop) installation?

@Kaacz Yes, the Android app. I guess my initial question is not clear enough :-/

Because it's not fully implemented yet. Some initial work was done, but it's not finished: https://github.com/tmeshkova/embedlite-components/blob/master/jscomps/EmbedLiteSyncService.js I hope Jolla will enable it in the future.

Note, I'm talking about the Sailfish browser here, not about the Android Firefox. Android Firefox should work with Mozilla Sync normally. So if you are using that through the Android runtime on Sailfish and it fails, you can try filing a bug for Mozilla.

I am referring to Andro-Fox... So, filing a bug for Mozilla would be the case here. Where?

So, it looks the future holds an even better solution: "...fetch all possible firefox store data". WoW :-)

The thing here is though, that there is some functionality missing from the alien dalvik machine that should be there. At least we should know what is missing.
