Using an ext4 SDcard, is there any issue to encrypt it? Will the save/restore still work? Any other dependenies with the native SailfishX apps? With the F-Droid apps?

ahhhh, ENcrypt, not crypt. I did wonder originally, but now the question makes more sense. Otherwise, all I could think of was this; "The cat crept into the crypt, crapped and crept out" :D

You could:

  1. Encrypt the partition https://together.jolla.com/question/2158/optional-encryption-of-the-device/
  2. Use Encfs https://github.com/ivfilin/encfs_sailfish/tree/master/RPMS

(I didn't try my self)

This is device independent. You can mount the SD card on any Linux machine.
