Hangouts .desktop file missing

Google Hangouts does not appear on launcher by default after being installed, I'm pretty sure it used to work few releases ago. I created it manually, posting here if someone else finds this workaround useful:

Each time the app is updated, apkd (probably?) seems to remove this file though so I have to recreate it manually.
My device is AquaFish and it's happening on SFOS 2.1.3.7.
It's not specific to that application, this happens with many apk's installed on Sailfish, some produce a shortcut on the launcher, some don't. I don't know why, it's just another one of many, many niggles with Sailfish in general.
