A great OS needs to be widely localized and so does its applications. Therefore I think we need a thread dedicated for app developers to request for translators help, so here it is...

Many apps are indeed translated into various languages and that is great, but far from enough if you ask me, so lets change this together. I know I'm doing what I can, but I can translate into one single language only (Swedish) and we need more. So, come on Sailfish users... get on with it and start translating your favourite app into your native language. It's fun and satisfactory! Really!

Any presumptive translator who think this is a good idea but needs a bit of help on how to, are welcome to contact me at any time by PM or email (eson at svenskasprakfiler dot se), and I will try to answer related questions to my best ability.

Last but not least. I'm not a developer (yet), but I will make the first translators request anyway, just to get it started (and because it's a great app that needs more translators).

Edit: Thu Feb 01

Worth to mention is that there is almost always a need for updates to maintain translations. Translators who are using Transifex service can get automatic notifications by email when there is new or changed strings in their translations, by hitting the "eye" seen below...

I agree with your idea of centralization ! I already translated some apps in French and would be glad to get involved even more.

Thanks @lutinotmalin To get more involved should not be a problem. ;) Let me know if I can assist in any way.

I'm in too. I can offer German as language translated to. If you have any need for a translation into German feel free to contact me.

I'm also willing to participate by translating to Finnish. I'm quite sure that there are people willing to take part if they just see that there's a need to that (and this thread hopefully can serve the purpose of letting people know of where there's a need).

SearchNemo

SearchNemo is a great sailfish text search tool which, in my opinion, does not get the attention it deserves. Top 10 defenitely, so get on with it. App is available in Jolla Store and OpenRepos. Translation service linked below...

I have two apps in Harbour, the most mature is the Fast chess to play chess and then an app At work to measure the time you stay at work. The fast chess has some very poor not updated google translations which I regret I never made:). Such good are the native translators I have! The easiest way to translate is transifex and if you have interest please join! Fast chess: https://www.transifex.com/rikujolla/shakkikello/ At work: https://www.transifex.com/rikujolla/oontoissa/
