Since there's no working support for SIP in Sailfish, I was wondering if anybody with Sailfish X has tried any of the android SIP apps such as Groundwire, Linphone, etc?

Unfortunately the built-in SIP client remained in orphaned early alpha state, don't use that one.

Due to lack of native SIP/VoIP-support I'm using Linphone (Open Source) that is available on F-Droid and received some nice updates during the last weeks (after a long break). With its second last update the previous call failures were eliminated.

One big advantage of Linphone is the availability of SRTP encryption (if your SIP-provider supports that feature).

However, I would appreciate if you also could show that there is an increasing amount of users who desire native VoIP/SIP or at least an open sourcing of the phone app (e.g. by upvoting in the neighbour thread)!

thanks for the letting me know that linphone is working. I've already upvoted that other post. How many upvotes does it need? Looks like it has more than many other posts.

I know this is a double post, but it doesn't matter in this case (too good news)... :-)

With s1p we got a great native SIP app finally! Please support it as much as you can to improve its development.

Already a huge THANK YOU to its developer named unmaintained! :-)

I am using zoiper (https://www.zoiper.com) which has quite many configuration options and works well on Sailfsh X. But true, a pity that there is no native, integrated client.

I've tried that, but it's not working on Motorola Droid Razr M. I don't have my Xperia X yet. I'd like to know if anybody has had luck with the native SIP on Xperia X or if they have been able to use an Android app for SIP.

I'm using Voipbuster on my Xperia x, works like a charm. But i guess many other android apps will work also.
