It would be great to have android like battery log/ performance monitor. The Battery Log application is great, but I think many users are not aware of this application. It would be nice to have similar functionality inbuilt in SF.

There are several applications that are filling the monitor needs. On my side, I ported collectd and adapted it to mobile OS, such as SFOS. It is expected that you use it together with SystemDataScope (https://openrepos.net/content/rinigus/systemdatascope) to monitor many aspects of the device performance as well as the performance of the applications you want to monitor. Its running collectd as a service and monitors system-exposed readouts. This should be similar to what would you expect from "build-in" monitor, just you have to install it.

edit by Vaibhav: I have been using Battery Log application. And overall it's good enough to track battery drains/charging pace. Though app specific battery use is missing, I consider this good enough, so that I'm accepting above post as answer and closing this question.

Thank you. Indeed there are various apps available all around. But why I would like something inbuilt is because of discoverability and compatibility. When it's inbuilt - you don't have to worry about compatibility. You know it will work. As to discoverability - I was unaware of all these till I absolutely had to search for them because there was no better way on the system to find out the culprits and keep track of battery drains. So having something inbuilt would have helped tremendously.

Better visibility would help indeed. This would probably mean that it should be pushed into Mer stack (backend for collecting stats) and SFOS (GUI). While we can try to get data collection into Mer, SFOS integration is at Jolla's hands.

In general, its a good idea to have decent monitor as a part of an OS. But would it make a cut into the next top 10 or 5 features you want to get implemented, I am not sure.
