great things are coming in Sailfish 3:

Does anybody know if there is SRTP-encryption intended?

Sadly, the video will not run in Google Chrome browser on my PC.

For those having the same problem, here's the Youtube link;

Sounds good but on what hardware?

Probably VoIP still won't get supported in Sailfish 3! Due to some presumptions of the community only VoLTE could be implemented what enables the ability of carrying usual calls a bit faster, but not the independent VoIP. :-(

Why do you want to know this? VoLTE is the standard for carrier VoIP. I would consider the link between the MS and the provider core (IMS) as secure, no matter if SRTP is used or not. There is e.g. IPsec used between MS and P-CSCF. The further routing to other providers could be anything insecure, even with SRTP on the first leg. Providers have to provide interfaces for legal interception and will be able to tap the media stream. The only safe conversation would be end-to-end encrypted sessions bypassing the provider voice core. For this we need a free configurable SIP client with SRTP/ZRTP.

@Stefanix: "For this we need a free configurable SIP client with SRTP/ZRTP." Exactly, because nowadays everything else without strong encryption does not make sense anymore.
