Make Together / Askbot mobile friendly [duplicate]
Duplicating this question
Greetings fellow sailors and Jolla.
The mobile version of together is quite rough on the edges if I may say so. Although using a phone to submit content to Together surely is not the preferable way but for browsing questions and reading e.g. release notes, there should be a nice and clean mobile layout.
While the official askbot instance doesn't do much better overall, there is no at least no overflow.
So these are the areas I think polishing would greatlyimprove the user experience on mobile:
- responsively scale/stack navigation elements (account tags, groups, unanswered)
- use folding menus
- profile stats ( karma, badges)
- sorting filters
- navigation?
- smaller font sizes for question titles
- clip long question titles (CSS overflow control)
- find a better place for side bars
- question tools maybe a collabsible area right below question and before comments?
- markdown hints
- scale down / minimalize counters for votes and answesrs in question list
- smaller tags
- use less indent for comments
- maybe only indent threads and use more obvious markup for regular comments
This is a long list, I know. But maybe this request will gain a few supporters that are willing to contribute. And if not from Jollas side (which I could very much understand), maybe it's possible for the community to help in a way. While
Format/layout of TJC when viewed using the default browser (Sailfish Browser) looks okay to me.
Spam Hunter ( 2018-02-28 12:20:14 +0300 )editI'm not saying its all a mess. The page does look okay. But I think only in terms of 'everything is visible and readable'. At various locations titles are flowing over (sorting menu as well) and any horizontal menu is jumbled by fitting into the smaller screen. Also, you have to pan to the right to see the thread tools.
