STOP ! Before you say anything, please read the whole post ... My aim is not to go back to android but to help people to do it if they need to.

One week ago, for a reason not known even today, one of a SIM of my Xperia F5122 (Yes dual sim with 2.1.4.14) was not working anymore. SIM display 2G instead 3G ... And after a superficial clean on the SIM, it just asked for the code but the network didn't work anymore. I changed the place of the SIM Card, it was worst ... The more I made test, the less the SIM card answered :( At the end, I didn't get the both SIM Card didn't answer. I tested them on another phone (Samsung J3) and each of them didn't have any problem ... So I though about a hardware problem. I contact Sony as my phone had only 4 months. The garanty should work ... But the email answered from Sony make me a bit afraid. "The guaranty does not work if any software modification was done ..." Ok, Sailfish is official BUT on F5121 ... I don't know Sony but a lot of entreprises take any mistake to refuse guaranty. I decided to put back Initial Android ... But no where it was explained :( It is why I wanted to explain How i did that ...

[HOW-TO] Install back Android on Xperia

1.Put back the lock on Bootloader. For that use flashtool

Start it. Then, your Xperia off, hold the volume down and plug the mobile to PC. Once connected, flashtool will offer you to Lock the bootloader. Do it.

2.Install Xperia Companion

Just repair your phone by following this link

After a succes, I tested my both sims with android ! They work !!! Problem from Sailfish X !?? Impossible, I have reset to sailfish factory to be sure (factory settings, no application anymore etc ...) ... SIM Card were not working !

I want to be sure, with flashtool, I unlock the bootloader (easy as the software keep your code in memory !!)

flash-on-window.bat ... Sailfish installed again .. The both SIM card work correclty as before ...

I don't know where the problem came from but this both installation solve it. I expect my post help somebody which can have this kind of problem. Hope this help

Sounds like some of the BLOB files in the SFOSX installation were damaged. The reinstall - of course - rewrites all necessary firmware files for SFOSX from scratch. Maybe this was the reason for all. Thanks for the tip!

Any way to clean them without doing all this stuff ? What do you call BLOB ?

There is no need to relock the bootloader. Simply download and install the Emma flash tool and flash it back. I switched carriers yesterday and since Sailfiah seems unable to register a new sim card on a new network before having android first do tha activation I had to flash mine back to Android, let it register on.the network and then flash it back to Sailfish.

This is something the team really needs.to address as having a mobile OS that is incapable of registering on a new cell network is a big obstacle to.wider adoption.

You are right but you have to select an image of Android ... with Sony companion, it do it by itself ... you are sure to have the good version of Android. Anyway, it is another solution. Each one will be able to choose the best one 👍

Hi there I have a purchased Version of Sailfish OS, due I had the Jolla Phone I knew the software and I wanted to continue with that. The current version of Sailfish OS X seems like a pretty early alpha to me, so i decided to switch back to Android by flashing with EMMA. The problem I have now, is that I'm not able to update to the current version because the device is unlocked (warning at system start) I don't mind the warning, but wanted to know, if i could get the device back into a stage where I'm able to update to a newer android version (Android 8 instead of 6).

I think you put a question in the answer box, but anyway, I think the answer to your question is yes, you can update. Either use Flashtool and download the latest fw with built-in Xperifirm, and flash, or relock boot loader, (can also be done with Flashtool, but not sure if ta backup is required), and get updates ota.

the problem is, when i lock the bootloader with flash tool, the device wants me to enter a startup pin, which i i have never set. Also I have red about the drm keys?, due i used the official jolla guidline i haven't backed them up. So am I lost now with a device that can either be run with jolla, where even basic features like accessing the phonebook over hands free is not working, or using an outdated version of android without access to sony specific features? I hope there is a way back that I'm capable to follow. Also xda wasnt really any help due i don't get the instructions To be honest: i need a simple step by step instruction, not two or more seperate instructions where I'm not even able to detect what i have to do

Found a solution: I created a Backup of my data, flashed the newest Version using flashtool, then locked the bootloader and everything was fine again. I was able to boot without entering a password. Even things like xreality are working :)

@Johannes Did you ever figure out the pin? I'm having the same issue and can't really get through the part of using flashtool to flash the device.

EDIT Never mind, figured out a way around the unknown pin: just keep trying ;-) If you continue entering wrong pin's, your device will at some point (30 entries, 3 reboots) do a factory reset. And that's good enough for me.

I tried it successfully on Xperia X f5121. No Emma tool needed.

What I want is to flash Android 10 build from XDA-dev. They have a bunch of files to download, but none of the archives contains an *.ftf file. Which Android version did you flash and where did you get the fimware from?
