I have a recurring appointment with an end-date, which I now want to remove (the end-date, not the appointment).

Background: I had a recurring appointment every two weeks, which was about to be moved by one week from a given date on. So I set an end date for my appointment to this specific date and created a new recurring appointment, also repeating every two weeks but shifted one week, after this specific date.

This change was cancelled, however, so everything will stay as it was, without any change. Thus I deleted the new appointment and now I want to remove the end date of my original recurring appointment such that it goes on indefinitely again.

The end-date is easy to change, but how to I remove it altogether? It does not seem to be possible, which looks as an omission in UI design.

The only mentioned workaround is to switch the appointment to "one-time event", save, re-edit it and reconfigure the recurrance parameters, which is not really an option, as it (probably) loses all individual exemptions and it's rather difficult to find the original appointment in the calender after removing the recurrence if it started several years ago...

(Edited to describe the reasoning behind my question.)

The only way I can see is by setting the recurrence to 'once', and then changing it back to 'bi-weekly' again, without an end date. You can change your question into a feature request, as it seems like an oversight that you can't simply remove the end date.

This seems not to be possible. It's somehow reasonable, because technically if an appointment does not have an end date its duration is indefinite. What I do in cases I just want a reminder for a certain point in time and not kind of blocking a time span, I set the end date equal to the start date. This works perfectly with the current calendar.

Of course it is valid from a UI perspective to expect only the start date displayed, if an appointment has the same start and end date, but that's another story... it's not provided yet.

I don't think I correctly understood your suggestion. If I set the start date and end date to the same day, then - at least in Sailfish OS 2.1.4.14 - the event is not recurring any more, but only occupies this specific date. (As one probably would expect...)

This probably wasn't your suggestion?

I guess, I totaly misread your question. I thought you were referring to the end time of an appointment. Need more accuracy when reading questions. Sorry for that.
