flip screen 180 degree, possible?

I noticed that on the Xperia X an upside-down flip brings the buttons in perfect position for left-handers. Even more the volume and camera buttons would be on the upper half again, great. The Xperia has symmetric speakers and also microphones(?) on both sides. Is there an option to flip the screen, is it possible to implement?

It should work somehow because it's supported on the tablet. Don't know though if the difference is in a configuration file or a binary.

first I thought whaddyaheck, but it indeed could be possible!

Indeed there are things that might be speakers on both ends, and also small holes on the end facets that might be microphones, are they????

and if there are mics in both ends, why?

@juiceme Xperia X has "stereo" speakers, one of the features setting it apart from the entry class, e.g. the XA. You'll notice it best when turning the X to landscape format while playing music/video.

Coderus' patch to allow any rotation for all apps: https://coderus.openrepos.net/pm2/project/uirotate-free

Works flawlessly on Xperia X 2.1.4.14.

Patchmanager 2.0 needed unless you want to implement the single line of code yourself: https://openrepos.net/content/coderus/patchmanager-20

Thank your for your answer. Problem solved. Works even better when display orientation portrait is chosen, because then the homescreen doesn't switch to landscape, but to upside-down.

edit: reopen, as i noticed the patch only solves the problem partly. The screen flips, but not the speakers, so it is not usable upside-down as telephone.

Well, no... It will of course not magically flip the position of your microphone and your earpiece. Your question was if it is possible to flip the screen.

This patch is awesome! It let me put the Xperia device upright. Great! Just wondering: I do not have big customisations on OS level and this is the only patch that my current SFOS got applied (manually). Question: Do I really need to revert this patch to update to the next OS release? Shouldn't this get managed by the underlying package management. Like, the file gets overwritten by the "new" package (if any) ...?
