Hi,

I have my phone connected to my Linux machine in two cases:

  1. Wireless Tethering mode
  2. USB Cable

I would like to make a call from my laptop itself, using the Radio interface in the phone (I'm not talking about VoIP). Is this possible ?

Any software you want to use in particular on the desktop?

I'm not looking for a specific software. I just dont want to reach out for the phone, and do stuff like sending sms, calling etc via a the desktop itself. Something like Airdroid maybe.

Here is an excellent collection of CLI commands which you can use from a ssh terminal on your Linux desktop: https://together.jolla.com/question/70745/command-line-equivalents-of-gui-commands/

I down vote the answer, because I don't see why someone (user) would need to enable development mode to be able to do any calls via bluetooth or usb from linux machine, although the list is really interesting - it is very hacky.

It would be much better to provide an example preferably with a GUI for linux users, like this https://wiki.tizen.org/Connecting_to_a_Smartphone_with_Bluetooth_and_Making_Phone_Calls

I am even not sure that this would work via USB - this is interesting question - IMO no way, except the "hack your way".

I am more interested in such using bluetooth, however I was playing recently with bluez on Sailfish X and from what I found out, until there is a major upgrade in pulseaudio ( and including ofono), it might be difficult to get it working.

You have my deepest sympathy.

@lukatulo, thanks - I have it on my todo list to try compiling pulseaudio 11 and test with BT, but for now the prio is not high as my Nokia N9 still works pretty well and Sailfish X could not convince me to switch to it as production phone.
