What is the most recent guesstimate as to when support for the new Xperia devices is going to be available? Is the dual-sim X (F5122) going to be released together with 2.2.0? Do we already know something about when the XA support is expected to hit the shops? Thanks!

Jolla has said that when 2.2.0 is released, it will support the F5122. You can get an F5122 now and install Sailfish on it: I have done that and it is my daily driver. Immediately after a fresh install neither SIM works, but after minor edits to two files and a reboot everything works fine. Look elsewhere on TJC for the exact edits needed.

@pakman Thanks! Can official Android support already be installed on F5122, or are there restrictions because it's not an official device?

Currently F5122 is recorded as an F5121 under your Jolla account when registered so no problems with official Android support.

@Federico Yes, I can confirm what aspererguy said, I have no problem with installing Android apps on my F5122. I have had occasional problems with apps from the official Jolla Android store, so my preferred source now is F-Droid, and if they don't have the app I'm looking for I use Yalp (available from F-Droid).

Be warned though: a lot of Android apps either don't work on SFOS at all, or only partially work. I am hoping that the support will improve with Sailfish 3

Many Android apps might not work, but a metric ton of them work just fine. I have actually yet to find one that I really really need but which does not work.

App discoverability and having to learn to go through Yalp for a bunch of apps is the bigger issue imho.
