Is there anyone who has made (Android version of) Microsoft Outlook work on any Sailfish device?

Installation works fine but app cannot be setup properly - at least for me... :(

I guess some mandatory feature of Android is missing...

EDIT: it is about adding MS Exchange account. App itself installs ok...

are you trying to set up a Gmail account? If so you'll need to install Chrome - but you can uninstall Chrome once Outlook is working.

If an IMAP account remember to click IMAP after inputting email address

@rfa no, it is not Gmail but a corporate Exchange account. It was working fine but recently my company introduced more strict security measures, made Outlook as recommended email client thus built-in Jolla Exchange support does not do the trick any more...

I have/had similar issue (my company tightened their „security”) but got Emails working via IMAP and calendar via Bluemail (Android app). Unfortunatly Jolla's Exchange account setup did not work for me. At least my company requires office365 authentification. For now I can survive with IMAP + Bluemail, not a perfect solution. You could try this as well!

your company is aware that outlook app stores your credentials and all your mail in the MS-cloud?

I just have installed Microsoft Outlook on Jolla C and I had no problem to add my private mail account (T-Online Germany). Works perfectly in my case. Pretty cool btw.

However: On Jolla C I still have Google Play installed. So at the moment I can't say whether it will work on Xperia X which never will have any Google services installed now and in future. I will try it later on Xperia X as well and let you know.

I'm interested in setting up corporate account that has some specific requirements (Microsoft Authenticator, security measures, etc.) on Jolla C...

I have Google Play and Sevices installed on my Xperia X. Why do you think it's impossible?

velemas ( 2018-05-02 11:55:25 +0300 )edit

I didn't say it is impossible. I just don't know whether Google Play is required or not. And that's the difference between my Jolla C and my Xperia X. My assumption is that it should work in any case... but I didn't test it on the Xperia X so far.

Setting up an corporate account unfortunately I can't assist.

Hi! I successufully use Touchdown Symantec on both Jolla1 and Xperia X. Android support needed. No Gplay services needed.

@Edz In order to use an (Android version of) Microsoft Outlook working on Sailfish devices a good app is Touchdown. It is not exactly the same of Office but supports all the functionalities,
