Signal Messenger suddenly stopped working

I've tried with the (android) version off one of the stores and with the APK downloaded from signal.org. As usual, the verification SMS doesn't come, but the voice call works. However, messaging just doesn't work any more.
And while I'm on the subject, is there a native Sailfish version of Signal in the works? I have a vague recollection of something based off Textsecure, but I can't find it now.
