Intro: My Jolla 1's battery broke. This broke the phone. I was able to extract all data, but not to make a backup from the contacts file.

After a few more starting attempts the poor thing didn't even want to boot anymore, so I bought an Xperia X F5121 (with which I'm very happy!) and tried to transfer the saved contacts files to the Xperia. That in itself wasn't so difficult, or so it seemed, but the contacts application wasn't able to see the contacts. I think I got the owners right though.

What I did: I transferred the old

/home/nemo/.local/share/system/Contacts/qtcontacts-sqlite/contacts.db , .db-shm and .db-wal to the same location in the new phone, with owners nemo:privileged.

If I open the contacts.db file in sqlitebrowser, I can see the contacts, but Sailfish X doesn't.

Does anyone have a suggestion as to what is wrong and how to solve it?

Were your Jolla1 and Xperia on the same Sailfish release while you extracted and copied the contacts database?

No, absolutely not, but unfortunately I don't know the release of the Jolla 1.

Maybe you should try convert contacts.db to vcf file and then import it from Phonebook app.

@atlochowski: If only I knew how to do that I'd already have done it. ;-) Any hints?

Hi.

Did you check the file's access permissions? They should be:

-rw-r--r-- 1 nemo privileged

This applies to all three files in the folder.

Regards.

Yes, that's how they are set.
