How do I re-download the Update?

Ahoy,

I'm stuck on 2.1.4.14 and cannot update. I was able to download the update file (even without Terminal), but when I tap "Install" the progress bar fills itself in less than a minute, and I get the "Restart Phone" button. Afterwards, it is still 2.1.4.14 and the "new update available" message is displayed.

Is there a way to get rid of the already downloaded update file to re-download it again in case of file corruption? Also, when I try installation via terminal, the file "/repodata/repomd.xml" could not be found on "https://store-repository.jolla.com/releases/2.2.0.29/aliendalvik//?credentials=store"

The system then tries again 9 times but the Refresh percentage stays 0%, and the same error message is displayed again.

What do? Patches are deactivated, and I don't use Phonehook, custom Ofono or Callrecorder. Also, only 9GB User Data, so space should be enough.

Help please, and cheers

I had exactly the same problem, eventually, I rebooted the phone and now Settings shows that my device did in fact update to the latest OS, despite that fact it all seemed too quick to download the update.

When I had the problem you had, another user here @nthn suggested 'ssu re 2.2.0.29' and then 'version --dup'.

Thanks to leszek, the mess could be solved (might as well help the other sailors with similar problems). And message to myself: I had the same issue a while before, so I should read my own TJC questions and the corresponding answers more thoroughly.

As simple as it is, "clamav" was the problem. It couldn't be uninstalled via Openrepos UI, but "rpm -e --noscripts clamav" worked. Afterwards, the update process took much longer and worked like charm. Sorry for NielDK, but I have to let go of ClamAV for now, as it caused the same trouble twice without a clean workaround. Spread the word, and thanks for your contributions - this is truly successful "learning by doing".

Cheers, and keep it up!

please tell me: how did you find which package was broken? I Also have this error: "/repodata/repomd.xml" could not be found on "https://store-repository.jolla.com/releases/2.2.0.29/aliendalvik//?credentials=store"

As leszek said:

/var/log/systemupdate.log (I opened it in Filetug) and look for "failed" flags (even easier in Editor. or TIde, where the "failed" arguments are marked red). That way, only two issues showed up (TOHKBD and ClamAV), of which trial-and-error proved that the latter had been the problem. A short TJC-search afterwards did the rest to verify and correct the error - that's it. There are so many wise people here that people like us can learn tons of stuff 'n things from ^^

Cheers - ME

You can take a look at /var/log/systemupdate.log and search for error. Above the error message there should be a package name of the package you need to downgrade or update to make it work again. (it can be more than one package)

Dammit, looks like my problem is somewhere else. Pkcon refresh fails as well, clamav doesn't uninstall, and TOHKBD causes problems as well. Right now I'm trying to update my other J1's. There had been the same problem on TJC in 11/16 with another update, but that had been solved by Jolla themselves by altering the Repos. The "ssu re 2.2.0.29 - version --dup" stuff didn't work.

Cheers
