Hi, I have been using Jolla 1 since 2015 and I think the hardware is dying now. I've decided I want to purchase Sailfish X, but I'm not from EU. Is it already possible to purchase Sailfish X?

Last time (few months ago) I tried to purchase, I cant proceed to payment page. But yesterday, I can proceed to form where I can input visa number and so on (I choose Finland as country).

I didn't continue from there because I need to confirm this to anyone who had same experience here. And also, I don't know if it's a bug or not, I still had INDEPENDENCE voucher attached when I tried to purchase Sailfish X, as seen in screenshot below. image description

Is it safe to continue?

And I also read from latest update, Sailfish X is officially support Xperia X dual SIM. Sailfish 3.0, will support Xperia XA2.

Is Sailfish X a one-time purchase for all device or I must buy for each different device?

Thank you.

Note that the geographic lock-out is based on IP addresses.

At least initially, that detection - provided by Amazon - was buggy (I'm in Switzerland in the middle of the European continent, but was detected somewhere else).

Using a VPN, tor or a proxy server (i.e.: any techniques that makes you show up as a different IP) solves the problem and allows you to check out even if your original IP isn't recognized as in EU / CH / Norway.

So even if the payment fails with you original IP, you can still use this methods to proceed.

Turning a VPN on doesn't disturbs the webshop session (session relies on cookies, not on IP)

I've tried using tor to pay via paypal and visa, but both didnt work. It redirect me back to shop.jolla.com with error message

There was a problem with your payment. Please try again!

Now I dont know what to do.

My experience using Tor was identical; my payment attempts all failed using various payment methods. In the end I decided to install the free version of Sailfish on the Xperia XA2 Plus I bought for the purpose. After three days I'm delighted with the experience:

However, while I have been able to find and install every other app I need, I cannot get Slack access on the device, and that is going to be a deal breaker for me unless I carry two phones, which is nuts. The obvious interim solution is to buy a license and install the Android app, but I need to find a way to purchase this.

Even if I could live without the Android subsystem, I would still like to give Jolla some money. They've made a wonderful operating system and I'd like to support them. I'd be interested to know why licenses are geo-fenced, and whether that will change in the future.
