Not being a fan of the phablet form factor which seems to dominate the market (and to me a "phablet" is any phone with a >5" screen), I'm interested to hear if there are any pocket friendly handsets available that can run Sailfish? The Jolla One (my current device) is a little large, and I dearly miss the N9's form-factor, which to me was the perfect size!

I'm not going to post this as an answer, because it's an older phone, but I like Sailfish on my Motorola Droid Razr M. I love the size of this phone. The latest Sailfish version for it is 2.1.3.7 and maybe development has stalled. I'd love to see newer phones this size which could run sailfish.

However, because I still need a couple android apps (linphone for SIP and Crew for work communication) I also have an Xperia X that I'll use most of the time.

I would also love to see something like the N9, but the Sony Xperia X Compact is really nice, and in some ways resembles the N9 with its black surface and slightly rounded screen edges. It's a couple of millimetres smaller in height and width than the J1 and maybe one millimetre thinner, and it has a bit more pocket friendly corners. Sailfish OS runs very well on it, although the latest image available is still on version 2.1.3.

Thanks guys - I think the "Xperia X Compact" is the most interesting of the two. But what's this with being stuck at 2.1.3? I thought Jolla's current business plan was to port Sailfish to third party devices, how come they're not updating Sailfish X? Does getting an Xperia X mean I would be stuck on 2.1.3 forever?

@Lomax - have a read of the release notes for the latest SailfishOS release; specifically "Update version history"

@Lomax There is no official support for the X Compact. Jolla only provides images and updates for the "normal" X. The image for X Compact was created as a one person community project, and I guess more people have to step up and help to maintain it and ensure that new versions get released. See more here.
