Skipping tutorial should disable hints
I recently reflashed my Sailfish X on Sony Xperia X, and as I've familiar with the OS, I skipped the tutorial using the corner taps. However, at least in Mail application and events view, the OS persistently offer me hints (e.g. Swipe ledt for folders). Skipping the tutorial should disable the hints, too, but it does not. The hints get very quickly very annoying, and I seem not to be able to get rid of them by just following the instructions.
- How do I disable the hints in various apps and places? Answered!
- Could the tutorial also disable the hints in the future? Unanswered so far - I made this the main issue and a reature request now.
Thank you.
Good point. Normally the hints should disappear after you've seen them two or three times.

You can skip those if you already worked with SFOS. Hints within an app are a completely different matter. They tell you how this specific app works. Totally different thing.
ossi1967 ( 2018-06-12 11:14:18 +0200 )editMail is a separately installed application, fair enough, but still Jolla made. Events view hints are part of core Jolla OS, and those hints should be disabled. If you are such a user that you know how to skip the tutorial, you don't need the hints either.
Direc ( 2018-06-12 11:17:08 +0200 )editI remember that there was an answer for this question on tjc or tmo and was answered by @coderus (if I remember correcltly). There is a way to do that in terminal.
